Goal

To design a modern, visually clean one-page resume website for Matius Montol—a professional entering a competitive market who needed a strong, personal online presence. The goal was to go beyond a PDF and create a living, interactive résumé that could adapt with his career journey.

Thought & Creation Process

The approach started with one key idea:

"Your website should tell your story before you ever walk into the interview."

We aimed to distill the essence of a well-organized résumé into a simple, scrollable narrative—easy to navigate on mobile, instantly informative, and subtly personalized in tone and design.

Strategy Highlights

  • Prioritized sections like About, Education, Experience, Skills, and Contact
  • Built with the assumption that the first 10 seconds are crucial—so clarity and readability were paramount
  • Designed to leave a lasting impression even if visited for under a minute

Design Direction

  • Typography: Professional sans-serif fonts with consistent visual rhythm for scanning
  • Layout: Split structure for quick reference—left side anchored with contact and photo, right side scrolling through experience
  • Color Scheme: Neutral tones with a single accent color to subtly reflect personality without feeling overly branded
  • Visual Touches:
    • A static header with name and headline
    • Icons for skills/tools to add visual variation
    • Hover interactions to create engagement on desktop

Build & Hosting

  • Lightweight HTML/CSS build for fast loading
  • Responsive design to ensure clean viewing across devices
  • Optimized for keyword indexing (for better visibility in Google searches)
  • Hosted on a personal domain for professionalism and email setup

Outcome

The final site served as a polished, professional snapshot of Matius Montol’s qualifications, combining traditional résumé structure with modern user expectations. Key results included:

  • Successful use during job applications and networking outreach
  • Positive feedback from peers and recruiters on layout and accessibility
  • A foundation that could be easily expanded to include blog posts or portfolio items in the future

This project illustrates how a well-crafted personal website can bridge the gap between static résumés and dynamic digital identities—especially for those entering or pivoting within professional spaces.
