Miss Gerimiz – Brand Identity for a Neighborhood Juice Stall

Goal
To develop a warm, approachable brand identity for a small juice stall that caters primarily to elementary school children and families in a local Bandung neighborhood. The brand needed to be instantly recognizable, memorable, and friendly—while visually communicating the freshness and joy of its products.
Thought & Creation Process
The name Miss Gerimiz is a clever wordplay that blends:
- “Gerimis” – the Indonesian word for “light rain” (suggesting cool refreshment), and
- “Seger, Imut, Maniez” – an acronym meaning “Refreshing, Cute, and Sweet”.
We leaned into this local pun and built a brand that felt native, lovable, and easy to remember—perfect for a small business built on personal charm.
Target Audience Insight
Since the juice stall is located near a primary school, we knew the brand had to connect with children at eye level while remaining appealing to parents. The approach was similar to designing a mini mascot brand—fun, but safe and trustable.
Visual Identity System
Character Design
The heart of the brand is a hand-drawn cartoon character—a smiling girl in a pink hat with a daisy flower. Her look was inspired by Strawberry Shortcake, a well-known cartoon figure among the local community. We adapted this idea to local culture and gave her a distinct identity that children would recognize and associate with joy and health.
Typography & Style
- Custom logotype with bouncy, rounded lettering to reflect playfulness and friendliness
- Supporting text features a rhythmic tagline: “Seger. Dingin. Maniez.”—used directly under the logo in most applications
Color Palette
- Strawberry pinks, leafy greens, and sunshine yellows to evoke fruit freshness and positivity
- High-contrast design for visibility on signage, cups, and uniforms
Applications
- Juice cup packaging
- Signboard and stall branding
- Printed stickers and character usage for merchandise
Each design was created with scalability in mind, so the brand can grow from a small stall into a potential mobile cart or chain without losing its charm.
Outcome
The final identity gave Miss Gerimiz a signature look and voice that stood out in a crowded street environment. The brand:
- Attracted attention from local children and families
- Created a cohesive and emotionally resonant experience beyond just the drink
- Provided the owner with a versatile visual system to expand into other product lines (e.g. bottled drinks, merchandise)
This project shows how local insight, language play, and joyful design can come together to build a brand that truly lives within its neighborhood.
